Hospital Outreach Post-Suicidal Engagement (HOPE) Program Senior Clinician
Dependent on qualification and experience.
A senior clinician position for the HOPE Program, providing assertive, integrated aftercare for consumers experiencing a suicidal crisis.
This is a full-time role classified as an RPN3, SW2, OT2 or Psych2 in line with the Victorian Public Mental Health Services Enterprise Agreement.
About the Role:
The HOPE Program provides assertive, integrated aftercare for consumers experiencing a suicidal crisis. Clinicians work collaboratively with consumers to understand their experiences of suicidality, considering psychological factors, triggers, cognitions, impulses, behaviors, and emotions. Using various therapeutic approaches, clinicians help consumers identify and build coping strategies to reduce suicidality risk. They also work with consumers and wellbeing support workers to address psychosocial needs.
About You:
You will be a qualified registered nurse, social worker, occupational therapist, or psychologist with current registration or accreditation. Experience in therapeutic work, particularly managing suicidality, is essential.
You will have:
* Knowledge and experience in assessment, safety planning, treatment, support planning, and therapeutic interventions for consumers experiencing suicidality.
* Experience working with at-risk groups such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, LGBTQIA+, youth, people with disability, neurodivergence, trauma victims.
* Ability to liaise and collaborate with mental health professionals, community support providers, and consumers' support networks.
* Commitment to client-centered, trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and recovery-oriented practices.
* Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
* Strong organization and time management skills to handle competing demands.
