About the Role
Reporting to the Manager: Operational Finance, the Accountant is responsible for managing a range of finance activities and the provision of expert advice for specific business areas within the Academic Unit.
In addition, this position is also responsible for supporting the Manager: Operational Finance in the management of complex finance activities that are ‘Academic Unit wide’’ in scope.

Essential Skills and Experience
1. Undergraduate qualifications in a finance related discipline with at least four years relevant accounting experience and a professional accounting designation (i.e. Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or CPA Australia or equivalent)
2. Demonstrated experience working in an accounting position that required the development of forecasts, budgets and financial plans within a complex environment
3. Demonstrated experience in the integration and analysis of multiple finance activities to present an overall strategic view
4. Demonstrated experience in the management of finance projects involving multiple stakeholders within a complex environment
5. Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills and liaising effectively with a wide variety of staff across all levels of an organisation
