The Opportunity
The School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University is one of the largest and most highly regarded schools of public health in the Asia Pacific region, with internationally recognised strengths in clinical trials, health services research, evidence synthesis and implementation science.
We are seeking two Research Assistants (Level A) to join aligned but distinct research programs within the Musculoskeletal Health Unit and Wiser Health Care group, both based at Monash’s Alfred campus. These roles provide outstanding opportunities for early-career researchers seeking hands-on experience in high-quality practice-changing research.
The Roles and What We’re Looking For
Both positions suit organised, motivated research professionals who enjoy working collaboratively and contributing to high-quality, real-world research outcomes.
Across both roles, you will work closely with senior researchers, clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, contribute to core research activities, support students and collaborators, and help ensure the smooth delivery of complex research programs.
* Research Assistant - ANZMUSC:
Supporting the Australia and New Zealand Musculoskeletal Clinical Trials Network (ANZMUSC), this role focuses on research coordination, governance and committee support, evidence reviews, stakeholder engagement, and communication activities within a national clinical trials network.
* Research Assistant - Wiser Health Care:
Supporting a portfolio of health services and implementation science projects, this role focuses on research delivery activities including data collection and management, systematic reviews, ethics documentation, and preparation of reports and manuscripts.
About You
You will bring:
* An honours degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent research experience
* Demonstrated experience supporting research activities such as data collection, literature reviews, evidence synthesis, analysis and/or research reporting
* Strong organisational and coordination skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* A collaborative approach and commitment to research integrity and quality
Experience in musculoskeletal health, clinical trials, health services research, implementation science or systematic reviews will be highly regarded, depending on the role.
