Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Mine Accountant to join our team in Newcastle. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant looking to take their career to the next level.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing monthly management accounts and reports for a mine site, as well as stewarding the general ledger and utilizing business intelligence systems to generate insightful reporting and understand business performance.
This role involves completing month-end processes, annual budgeting, and mid-year forecasting using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. The successful candidate will also assist auditors with providing information.
Main Responsibilities:
* Prepare management accounting and financial reports, including monthly mine site reports and ad-hoc reporting.
* Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
* Support audit requirements for multiple mines during hard close, half-year, and full-year audit processes.
* Steward the general ledger for company codes, ensuring correct allocation of expenses.
* Develop expertise in ERP systems and Business Intelligence software.
* Involvement in testing system updates.
Requirements:
* Bachelor of Commerce or related field.
* Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) membership.
* Minimum 3 years management accounting experience, with mine accounting experience preferred.
* Systems experience, particularly in TM1 Planning Analytics and Pulse, desirable.
