Viva Leisure (ASX: VVA) is seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded General Counsel to join our executive leadership team during a significant phase of national and international growth.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a genuine ASX-listed General Counsel role within a founder-led, agile organisation that values pace, pragmatism and commercial judgement. Reporting to the CEO and COO, and working closely with the Board, the General Counsel will serve as the principal legal adviser across a diverse and expanding portfolio of brands, facilities and international partnerships.
The remit is broad and influential, spanning corporate governance and company secretarial responsibilities, listed company compliance, employment and workplace matters, a substantial national property portfolio, intellectual property, litigation oversight and acquisition support. Importantly, this role is embedded within the executive team and will play a visible role in shaping risk appetite, enabling growth initiatives and supporting confident decision making across the business.
Viva operates more than 500 locations across Australia and internationally and continues to scale through acquisition and franchise expansion. Our legal function is lean and capable, requiring a leader who is both strategically credible at Board level and comfortable remaining close to operational detail when required.

This role will suit a commercially pragmatic lawyer with strong ASX listed governance experience who is motivated by breadth, influence and the opportunity to shape a growing is the preferred location, reflecting the presence of the executive team and legal function; however, Sydney based candidates will be strongly considered.
