Operations Manager | Chemical Manufacturing | Brisbane South
Environex is a well-established, privately operated manufacturing business based in Crestmead, Brisbane. We are seeking an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead a pivotal phase of operational transformation at our site.
This is a senior site leadership role with full accountability for safety, production performance, workforce capability and operational excellence. Reporting to a national operations manager, you will be a hands-on leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and is confident driving meaningful change within established teams.
The Opportunity
As Operations Manager, you will take full ownership of our Crestmead manufacturing operation, leading teams across production, warehousing and support functions. Environex is investing in lifting safety standards, improving operational discipline and embedding structured performance management — and you will be at the centre of this transformation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Champion a safety-first culture, embedding WHS compliance and best-practice standards across all site operations
* Drive production, planning and logistics performance to consistently achieve business outcomes
* Design and implement structured KPIs and performance management frameworks
* Identify and deliver continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process flow, efficiency and asset utilisation
* Lead, develop and coach a blue-collar workforce, building capability and succession pipelines
* Collaborate with supply chain, sales and engineering stakeholders to align operations with customer demand
* Support CAPEX evaluation and contribute to the delivery of equipment and process upgrades
* Be a visible, floor-based leader — setting clear expectations and mentoring your team every day
About You:
* 10+ years' experience in manufacturing operations, with senior leadership accountability across production and supply chain
* Demonstrated experience working in a DG chemical environment
* Proven safety leadership record in industrial or manufacturing settings
* Strong track record of implementing KPIs and driving data-led decision making
* A natural communicator and people leader who can influence at all levels of the organisation
