St John Ambulance ACT is seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Training Manager to lead our dynamic training team and ensure the delivery of high‐quality first aid and mental health training across the ACT. What you'll do:

As the Senior Training Manager, you will:

* Lead a team of skilled trainers delivering accredited and non‐accredited first aid and mental health training to the community and St John volunteers.
* Ensure all training meets the highest quality standards and complies with RTO and government accreditation requirements.
* Support volunteers with essential training, re‐certification and development aligned to St John's clinical scope.
* Develop and launch new community‐focused and volunteer‐focused training programs.
* Provide hands‐on delivery of training when required to maintain continuity and stay connected to our training environments.
* Manage rostering, training resources and equipment to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
* Oversee all RTO compliance activities including audits, trainer competency records, advertising requirements and WHS obligations.
* Recruit, mentor and develop trainers, fostering a supportive team culture
* Assist trainers with clear learning pathways for students with additional learning needs.
* Collaborate with the CEO and management team on planning, budgeting, tenders, reporting and national initiatives.
* Represent the ACT on national committees and contribute to organisation‐wide projects.
* Deliver training personally where required, both to fill gaps caused by staff absence etc, and to maintain a level of knowledge of our training environment

What you'll bring

* Strong leadership skills with experience managing training teams or educational programs.
* Sound understanding of RTO compliance, training standards and quality frameworks.
* Able to adapt quickly to both anticipated and unexpected changes
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
* Innovative and pragmatic thinking, with a proven ability to develop and implement improvements and new ideas
* Strong IT skills across a range of platforms and systems
* Demonstrates integrity, professionalism and sound judgement in all interactions
* Ability to manage staff, addressing performance issues as required

Qualifications, knowledge and experience required

* Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or ability to obtain one
* Comprehensive experience in training delivery and/or clinical experience
* Current ACT WWVP Card and Driver's License, acceptable National Police Check
* Previous experience working in the not‐for‐profit sector is desirable
