About the Position
The Motor Mechanic plays a vital role in Success Auto Care Pty Ltd trading as City Discount Tyres Cockburn by maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing the mechanical components of light vehicles to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.
This full‐time position involves hands‐on technical work alongside tyre and wheel services, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the smooth operation of the workshop in a busy, supportive team setting.
Key Responsibilities
* Diagnose faults in engines, transmissions, steering, suspension, brakes, and other mechanical and electrical components.
* Dismantle, inspect, repair or replace worn/defective parts, and reassemble components using service manuals and diagnostic tools.
* Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrication, tune‐ups, and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and pollution regulations.
* Test and adjust repaired vehicles and systems to verify proper performance and roadworthiness.
* Collaborate with the team on general workshop tasks, including tyre fitting and wheel alignment where required.
* Maintain accurate records of work performed and adhere to workplace health and safety standards.
Requirements
* Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
* Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology and Certificate IV in Automotive Mechanical Diagnosis.
* Minimum 1 year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.
* Strong technical skills in engine diagnostics and repair, and use of diagnostic equipment.
* Excellent problem‐solving abilities, attention to detail, good communication and customer service skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
* Current Australian driver's licence.
