Infrastructure Architect

About the Role
We are partnering with a leading VMware delivery partner and Broadcom Partner of the Year 2026, supporting major Australian enterprise organisations – Think ASX200. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced VMware Architect to join a high‐performing delivery team. This is a hands‐on architecture role where you will design, lead, and deliver complex VMware‐based solutions across large‐scale, mission‐critical enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and architect VMware‐based solutions across compute, storage, and network domains
* Lead the delivery of secure, scalable virtualisation platforms within Federal Government environments
* Work closely with stakeholders to define technical roadmaps and architecture standards
* Provide technical leadership across VMware Cloud, SDDC, and hybrid cloud solutions
* Ensure alignment with Australian Government security frameworks (e.g. ISM, Essential Eight)
* Support pre‐sales activities, including solution design and client engagement where required
Key Skills & Experience
* Proven experience as a VMware Architect or Senior Engineer in complex environments
* Strong expertise across:
o VMware vSphere, vCenter
o VMware NSX (network virtualisation)
o VMware vSAN / storage solutions
o VMware Cloud (including hybrid and multi‐cloud architectures)
* Experience delivering into Australian Federal Government environments
* Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks (ISM, PSPF, Essential Eight)
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Desirable
* Experience with VCF 9
* VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, or VCDX)
* TOGAF or Zachmann Certification
* Experience with automation (PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible)
