About the Role
Join our Works & Services team as an Engineering Officer and play a key role in delivering Council's maintenance and construction programmes.
These positions provide technical support, including engineering survey services, maintenance programme and project management, contract administration and asset management.
Projects include roads, drainage, footpaths/cycleways, parking areas, traffic facilities, boat ramps, and recreational facilities.
The advertised salary is based on a four-step grade.
The starting salary is at Step 1, with progression based on achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.
Develop and deliver maintenance and capital works programmes for civil assets including roads, drainage, footpaths, street furniture, boat ramps and jetties.
Undertake asset inspection risk assessments and prioritise asset maintenance works.
Prepare project plans including cost estimates, works programmes, traffic control plans and environmental management plans.
Procure materials and contractors and coordinate the efficient delivery of works.
Engage and communicate effectively with outdoor staff, contractors, internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain service standards.
Provide engineering survey and design services.
Demonstrate positive behaviours by taking initiative, responsibility for own actions and referring issues of ethics and probity.
Support continuous improvement by identifying improvements to processes and practices and supporting change.
About You
Diploma in Surveying or Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification and/or experience.
Extensive related experience in civil engineering design, construction and/or maintenance.
Experience in construction, project and/or asset management.
Class C Driver's Licence.
NSW General Construction induction card (white card) or accepted interstate alternative.
Proof of Australian residency or citizenship.
