Join us as a Grade II Surveyor (Offshore)
DOF Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a driven and capable Grade II Surveyor to join our team full‑time.
In this role, you'll play a key part in supporting offshore survey and inspection projects across DOF's global operations. Working alongside Senior Surveyors and Party Chiefs, you'll operate cutting‑edge online survey systems, manage positioning equipment, and carry out essential data processing to deliver precise and dependable survey results.

Responsibilities include:
* Operate and configure online survey software for basic survey operations, including data logging and monitoring data quality.
* Conduct basic configuration and operation of GNSS, USBL, and LBL positioning systems.
* Assist with acoustic positioning calibrations and sensor calibration/monitoring activities.
* Perform basic data processing for verification and presentation; identify and remove erroneous data.
* Configure geodetic parameters and demonstrate strong understanding of datums, projections, reference spheroids, precision, accuracy, and survey error concepts.
* Undertake water column measurements; understand effects of tides, sound velocity, and water column parameters on survey observations.
Requirements
* Be familiar with vessel layout and knowledge of appropriate marine practices and terminology
* Understand the effect of poor or uncalibrated systems on data quality and the online system components and their function within the online system.
* Basic understanding of tides, sound velocity and other water column parameters and their effects on survey observations and on survey sensors.
* Basic understanding of the operation of surface and sub-surface positioning systems.
* Ability to undertake basic operation and configuration of GNSS positioning systems.
* Understanding of heading and motion sensor calibration/monitoring and ability to assist in performing calibrations.
Education
* Degree in Hydrographic Survey, Geomatics, or a similar discipline.
Experience / Knowledge
* Minimum two years' relevant industry experience
* Certification: Must meet IMCA competence criteria for a Grade II Surveyor.

Benefits
The guaranteed base salary for this role is AUD 85,000 per annum, plus a generous offshore allowance paid for each day worked offshore.
