Your Role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will work in the Data team and actively collaborate in our data journey, providing significant data engineering direction for the delivery of our Azure Data Platform. You will build and maintain data pipelines to ingest data into the Data Platform and support integration into other systems.
Your duties and responsibilities
* Maintain, support, and monitor existing production Azure Synapse data engineering pipelines, PySpark notebooks, data platform lake house architecture, and Azure SQL ODS storage and Stored Procedures, CI/CD pipelines to ensure all data loads meet data quality standards and business SLA requirements.
* Participate and contribute to Azure data platform architecture design, data modelling, gathering and analysis of data requirements; understand documents, communicate and build appropriate solutions.
* Participate and contribute to the end‐to‐end data flow in the Azure data platform – ensuring data quality, efficient processing, and timely delivery of accurate and trusted data.
* Coach and mentor data engineers on Azure technologies.
* Collaborate and work closely with team members and contribute significantly to building a high‐performing, collaborative, transparent, and result‐driven data engineering team.
About You
* Extensive experience in design, build and support of data engineering pipelines in the data warehousing, BI analytics, and/or ML space is required.
* Substantial work experience using Azure data analytics tools such as Data Factory, Synapse, Azure SQL, data lake gen2, key vault is required.
* Proficiency in PySpark and Apache Spark with Python is required.
* Experience with CI/CD using modern DevOps / Data Ops integrated processes is desired.
* Exposure to Snowflake platform support and BAU operations, including query optimization, cost governance via warehouse management, and automated monitoring of ingestion pipelines.
* Implemented a unified data platform using Microsoft Fabric, migrating existing Synapse pipelines to Fabric Data Factory.
* Experience manipulating semi‐structured data (XML, JSON, Parquet).
