Procurement Leadership Opportunity
We are seeking an accomplished Procurement Specialist to spearhead strategic procurement activities in a complex environment. This role is pivotal in driving best value-for-money outcomes through the development and implementation of category strategies, sourcing plans, and contract management initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and execute procurement strategies and sourcing plans that minimize risk and deliver best value-for-money outcomes.
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to align procurement strategies with business objectives.
* Lead cross-functional teams through the end-to-end category and contract lifecycle, including scope development, budgeting, and risk management.
* Collaborate with contract owners to manage key contracts, ensuring compliance and performance.
* Promote best practice procurement processes across the organization.
* Establish benchmarks and performance measures for sourcing activities to achieve efficiency, effectiveness, and cost savings targets.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a tertiary qualification in commerce, law, supply chain, or a related discipline, with proven experience in strategic procurement, category management, and contract management within a complex environment. Strong project management skills, excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills are essential. In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, contracts law, risk management, and financial reporting is also required. Proficiency in MRP systems (IFS desirable) and Microsoft Office suite is necessary. Membership or eligibility for membership with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) is highly valued.
