- Location: Fiona Stanley Hospital, Murdoch
- 12 month Fixed-term Opportunity

**About the role**

The Network Specialist provides specialist knowledge and expertise within the team of Network Specialists and Network Associates, who operate, administer, and manage the Hospital's network and telephony service. The ICT Service components managed by this team include:

- Local Area Network (LAN)
- Wide Area Network (WAN)
- Wireless LAN (WLAN)
- Real Time Location Service (RTLS)
- Voice
- Video
- Collaboration

This role provides technical leadership for the design and deployment of network infrastructure and is prominent in designing network solutions to meet Hospital requirements.

The Network Specialist maintains consistency in design, along with high-quality guidelines and stable technical standards.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Keep informed of developments in network technologies and infrastructure
- Perform as part of the Network team to successfully:

- provide OAM services around the networking services and infrastructure
- monitor and respond to service Outages and performance events
- regularly patch networking infrastructure in line with patch management guidelines
- provide capacity planning around the network components
- report on the network specific KPIs
- Optimise network utilisation through Quality of Service (QoS) management, tuning and monitoring
- Maintain network engineering policies and standard operating procedures
- Lead network fault diagnosis and rectification
- Act as a technical escalation point for Network Associates
- Determine hospital needs and coordinating the development and maintenance of network infrastructures
- Ensure secure and stable connectivity for network-connected devices
- Install, configure, test, patch, and maintain networking infrastructure and appliances, in the Hospital's TEST and PROD environments
- Mentor and coach junior staff
- Provide remote and on-site technical support
- Oversee production and quality documentation network configuration and cabling layouts

**About you**

You succeed in a complex team-oriented and deadline driven environment. You are confident in communicating with stakeholders and build effective working relationships. Your organisational skills and collaborative style will ensure capacity to successfully manage competing priorities, whilst providing services. You have excellent technical analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. You are a respectful and professional person who demonstrates exceptional moral values in everything you do.

**_ To be successful in this role you will have:_**
- Required - Bachelor's degree or higher qualifications in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent experience
- Required - Current Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification
- Desirable - ITIL Foundation Training
- Desirable - Current Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) certification
- Desirable - Certificate II/III in Health Administration
- Excellent understanding of at least one of Cisco Routing, Switching, Unified Communications, Wireless, and Firewall technologies, and Stanley Healthcare Location Services platforms
- Experience with network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security
- Availability to perform network repairs outside of business hours.
- This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a national police check as an essential selection component for this role._
