HEAD CHEF – Hamilton Island / Multiple Outlets Hamilton Island is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef to join our culinary leadership team. You’ll lead your team to deliver high-quality food, maintain operational excellence, and create menus that reflect both guest expectations and Hamilton Island’s commitment to quality and innovation. Where you’ll make an impact Lead day-to-day kitchen operations and ensure consistent food quality Design and deliver seasonal menus aligned to venue style and guest needs Manage kitchen teams, including recruitment, training, and performance Control stock, ordering, food costs, and labour budgets Maintain compliance with food safety, WHS, and operational standards Collaborate with front-of-house teams to deliver exceptional service Drive continuous improvement in kitchen processes and performance Uphold Hamilton Island’s reputation for culinary excellence What we’re looking for You are a confident and creative culinary leader who thrives in fast-paced environments. You bring strong leadership, commercial awareness, and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences across a range of service styles. To be successful, you will need: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Essential) Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (Essential) Minimum 3–5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef Experience in high-volume or premium dining environments Strong leadership and team development skills Proven ability to manage food cost, labour, and kitchen performance Excellent communication and organisational skills Flexibility to work a rotating roster including weekends and evenings About Hamilton Island Our mission is to share the wonder of Hamilton Island with the world by creating wonder-filled experiences for our guests, employees and community.
