Cyber Communication and Change Manager – Hawthorn Campus

Join the Cyber Security team as a full‐time, ongoing position at our Hawthorn campus. The role offers a HEW9 salary, 17% super and staff benefits.

About the Role

The Cyber Communication and Change Manager is responsible for successfully uplifting and adopting cybersecurity behaviour, culture and process change across Swinburne University of Technology. They work collaboratively across all areas of the university, including the Cyber Resilience Program, to improve student and staff cyber knowledge. The Manager acts as an ambassador to staff, students and external stakeholders, increasing awareness of cyber controls and practices. They support the university's commitment to cyber engagement and resilience, and design visual communication formats to influence robust change management.

Key Accountabilities

  • Extensive understanding of information security systems and processes.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive multi‐channel strategic education plans to build awareness, enhance culture and change behaviours.
  • Act as a change agent across information security, creating measurable change in practices to add value to the university.
  • Manage and facilitate change impact, including stakeholder impact assessment sessions to articulate benefits and impact of change.
  • Simplify complex concepts and craft messaging that resonates with and educates stakeholders.
  • Work autonomously, manage and prioritise workload, and deliver on deadlines.
  • Identify, evaluate and report communications key performance indicators and metrics.
  • Identify and engage key stakeholders and influencers to drive change and enhance culture.
  • Demonstrate professional written and verbal communication skills; persuade and influence using thought leadership.
  • Exhibit interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills, liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Reporting and Collaboration

The Manager reports directly to the Chief Information Security Officer and collaborates closely with the Cyber Resilience Program Manager.

Qualifications and Experience

Experience in information security, change management and communication in an organisational setting.

Working with Children Check

Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children Check.
