AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
About the Role
As a Field Services Representative - Defence Systems Support, you'll be responsible for maintenance, fault isolation, diagnosis, and repair activities across a range of complex systems. You'll also provide technical mentoring to ensure a competent and capable workforce across the LMA–RAAF team.
Your day-to-day work will involve:
* Performing technical activities including maintenance, testing, and system upgrades in accordance with approved policies, processes, and technical manuals.
* Diagnosing and repairing communications equipment, computer systems, digital signal processing (DSP) equipment, and control systems.
* Operating, handling, and storing COMSEC CCI and key material in line with security protocols.
* Supporting modification/ integration activities and contributing to fault analysis and root cause investigations.
* Using test equipment to carry out diagnostic performance analysis on Agile Command and Control systems, radar systems, repairable items, and ground support equipment.
* Maintaining tool control and compliance with all safety and security procedures.
* Providing mentoring and technical guidance to team members.
* Supporting other Lockheed Martin Australia programs requiring the FSR skillset, as required.
Domestic travel will be required to support force projection and deployed capability, often in austere environments. International travel may also be required on occasion to support program needs.
About You
Essential:
* Trade Certificate in Communications and Electronics, Information Technology, or equivalent relevant experience.
* Proven experience working within a highly regulated environment (e.g Defence, Aviation, or other SOCI Act–defined industries).
* Strong background in ICT System Administration, networking, hardware/software management, release and configuration management, and incident management.
* Experience working within a Maintenance/ Configuration Management System
* Demonstrated ability to provide effective technical mentoring, guidance, and training to others.
Desirable:
* Recent Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator or CompTIA Linux+ certification.
* Previous experience handling COMSEC materials.
* Experience working within a sustainment project delivered to Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG).
