The Opportunity
ZIMMERMANN is seeking a detail‐oriented and experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance team based at our Sydney Head Office in Rosebery. This role supports the accurate, compliant, and timely processing of the Australian payroll across both our Retail and Corporate teams. Working closely with the Senior Payroll Manager, the position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast‐paced environment, has a strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, and prides themselves on delivering high‐quality outcomes through precision, collaboration, and process improvement. The Payroll Officer will balance hands‐on processing with analytical problem solving and stakeholder support, working closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, and Retail teams to ensure a smooth payroll experience for employees while supporting the business's ongoing growth and compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of accurate and timely fortnightly Australian payroll
* Manage payroll changes across the employee lifecycle
* Maintain payroll data across payroll, HR, and time & attendance systems
* Ensure payroll compliance with Australian legislation and awards
* Respond to payroll queries and support a positive employee experience
* Partner with internal teams and payroll providers to improve processes
* Support the Senior Payroll Manager with reporting and projects
What You Will Bring
* 2+ years experience in payroll
* Experience working with payroll and time & attendance systems
* High attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy
* Confident problem‐solver with sound analytical skills
* Clear communicator, comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders
* Professional, discreet, and trusted with confidential information
* Strong skills in Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
