Y Schools Queensland is looking for our next classroom hero as a Relief Teacher on a casual basis to support schools in Brisbane South.
About the role
As a Relief Teacher at Y Schools Queensland, you will deliver academic and wellbeing programs, support vocational training, and assist the Head of Campus in operational tasks to achieve educational, wellbeing, and vocational goals.
What will my time look like?
* Create and deliver lessons following the guidelines provided by the Head of Curriculum’s Wellbeing framework.
* Collaborate positively with school staff across campuses to develop and evaluate curriculum.
* Respond to students' needs effectively.
* Assess student progress and provide supportive feedback and reports.
* Support students with diverse learning needs, including disabilities, behavioural issues, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, low literacy/numeracy, and mental health challenges.
* Encourage student success and engagement.
Am I a good match?
* Hold a relevant university degree, current Queensland College of Teachers registration, First Aid, and CPR certifications.
* Apply knowledge to plan and prepare inclusive teaching and learning programs tailored to diverse student needs.
* Use effective teaching strategies, including technology and assessment tools, to create a supportive learning environment.
* Communicate effectively with students and apply appropriate behaviour management strategies to foster a positive classroom climate.
