Casual Financial Controller / Senior Accountant
Capezio is one of the world's most recognised dancewear brands, supplying premium dancewear, footwear and accessories to dancers, studios and retailers throughout Australia and internationally.
We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller or Senior Accountant to provide financial leadership and oversight for our Australian operation.
The Opportunity
This is an ongoing casual position offering a high degree of flexibility. Rather than fixed working days, hours will vary according to business requirements, month‐end reporting deadlines, payroll schedules, annual budgeting, audit requirements and ad hoc requests from our USA parent company.
The role would suit an experienced accountant seeking flexibility while remaining engaged in a senior, hands‐on financial management position.
Our existing highly experienced Senior Finance Officer manages Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, bank reconciliations and many day‐to‐day accounting functions. The successful applicant will oversee this position and provide support for more complex accounting, reporting and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities
* Monthly close and preparation of management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow)
* Financial reporting to local management and USA parent company
* Preparation and lodgement of BAS, Payroll Tax and WorkCover returns
* Payroll/HR oversight and processing
* Annual budgeting and forecasting
* Liaison with external auditors, government authorities and professional advisers
* Treasury management, including foreign currency exposure monitoring
* Inventory valuation and stock obsolescence provisions
* Supervision and support of the Senior Finance Officer
* Preparation of ad hoc financial reports and analysis requested by senior management and the USA parent company
Skills & Experience
* CPA or CA qualification highly regarded
* Extensive accounting and financial reporting experience
* Strong knowledge of Australian taxation and statutory compliance requirements
* Advanced Excel skills essential
* Experience with Sage 300 ERP and/or MYOB highly regarded
* Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
* Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with senior management, auditors and international stakeholders
