Are you a dedicated medical professional looking for your next rewarding role? West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) is currently seeking a Hospital Medical Officer to join our passionate and supportive team based in the picturesque Gippsland region of Victoria.

In this position, you'll play a vital role in assessing and managing patients across our hospital services, working closely with Consultant Specialists in a team-focused environment. You'll provide high-quality, patient-centred care while also contributing to education, quality improvement, and continuous professional development.

This is more than just a clinical role — it's an opportunity to become part of a collaborative and committed organisation where your growth is supported, and your contribution matters.

We're looking for someone with current AHPRA registration who can work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, manage time well, communicate clearly, and bring a genuine commitment to learning and professional standards. Whether you're early in your career or looking for a meaningful change, we welcome your energy, ideas and dedication.

At WGHG, we offer a welcoming workplace culture, strong clinical leadership, and access to ongoing training and development. Plus, enjoy all the benefits of regional living — shorter commutes, a relaxed lifestyle, and a close-knit community, all just over an hour from Melbourne.

If you're ready to take the next step in your medical career and want to be part of a team that truly cares, we'd love to hear from you.

Our preferred candidate will have:

MBBS or equivalent degree with current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Board of Australia (AHPRA) with minimum level 2 supervision.

Demonstrated appropriate level experience and skills in the medical assessment and clinical management of patients.

High level interpersonal and communication skills.

Evidence of on-going professional development to continually update personal medical knowledge and skills.

IMPORTANT:Some roles in the healthcare sector are required to be vaccinated annually for Influenza (unless a valid exemption applies). Evidence of vaccination (or exemption) will be required prior to commencement.
