About the Role
As a Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the business strategy and to foster an inclusive and purpose-driven culture where our people thrive, and our communities prosper. Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for the provision of comprehensive financial and information to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and Board of Directors in support of the successful delivery of GMCU's Strategic Plan and priorities.
You'll be responsible for facilitating the efficient operation of GMCU's financial requirements, statutory regulations and licenses; managing GMCU's treasury and forecasting activities as well as leading an accomplished finance team.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited:
* Develop and support delivery of GMCU's business strategy & planning, ensuring alignment to purpose, values and strategic priorities.
* Support the development, implementation, monitoring/reporting and evaluation of operational budgets and planning.
* Management of GMCU's capital management activities (including ICAAP) ensuring that relevant operational procedures are adhered to.
* Lead GMCU's Assets & Liabilities committee (ALCO) activities ensuring that GMCU makes timely and prudent decision regarding products and pricing in line with organisational constitutional and strategic objectives.
* Support the development of business processes and recommendations and effective business decision making through provision of financial forecasting, reporting, analysis and challenge.
* Lead team enablement and capability uplift through coaching, mentoring and professional development programs and frameworks.
* Oversee the application of finance functions, including the preparation of provision of related Board and management reports as required.
About You (Key Selection Criteria for this role)
Essential

* Relevant experience and formal qualifications (degree) in Finance/Accounting including CPA or CA.
* Knowledge, understanding and application of the statutory requirements and regulations, relevant to GMCU.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated experience in liaising with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
* Strong financial and business acumen and ability to think strategically.
* Demonstrated ability to prepare and evaluate capital expenditure and long-range financial plans and forecasts.
* Experience in treasury and liquidity management – preferably within a credit union environment
* Experience in preparing, monitoring and presenting budgets, reports and information to a variety of stakeholders, including Board, management and broader groups.
* Ability to satisfy GMCU's pre-employment screening requirements.
