Senior Accountant - Public Practice Accounting Firm
We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team in Stirling. If you enjoy working in public practice, like helping clients and want to be part of a relaxed but hardworking team, this could be a great fit.
About the Role
You will look after your own group of clients and handle the preparation and review of financial statements, tax returns, and BAS/IAS. You will also be required to respond to client questions and help guide junior staff when needed. You will work closely with the Practitioner on tax planning and advisiory projects.
What you will be doing
Prepare financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
Answering client queries and providing clear and practical advice
Supporting and mentoring junior team members
Helping with tax planning and business advisory work
Dealing with the ATO on behalf of clients
What we are looking for
CPA qualified or close to finishing
Full CPA qualification is required for this position
4-5+ years in public practice
Solid understanding of Australia tax and accounting standards
Ability to work independently as well as in a team
Well organised, time efficient and accurate
Punctual and reliable with an excellent work ethic
A willingness for developing and building client relationships
Problem solving skills and an ability to deal with issues
Comfortable using Xero and MYOB
Expert level proficiency required in Xero and MYOB software
Full Australian work rights are required for this position
