Your Opportunity
As the first point of contact for people seeking support and guidance regarding concerns for children, young people, and their families, our Strong Families, Safe Kids Advice & Referral line (SFSK) service plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our community's most vulnerable members. We pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive network of both government and non-government resources, facilitating early interventions, and working toward positive outcomes for children and families.
Co-located at St Johns Park, New Town as a Program Manager you will have the opportunity to lead an exceptional team, who oversee the coordination of services and ensure that assistance is provided promptly and effectively. Whether it's offering valuable advice and information, facilitating referrals to other support services, or collaborating closely with Child Safety Services for further assessment when necessary, your values based leadership will be driving positive change and promoting the welfare of children and families across Tasmania. This role offers a level of autonomy and will require a high level of organisational skills, teamwork, and collaboration across multiple organisations.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain an effective and skilled team by establishing role clarity at direct report level ensuring that performance expectations, development and accountabilities are clearly set and reviewed regularly.
- Coach and Mentor team to enhance capability, development, and self-awareness including mastery of wellness and confidence in resilience.
- Conduct staff performance discussions when required including setting priorities and outcomes, planning, and organising work and monitoring workflows, and assist in conflict resolution.
- Action and accountability driven to achieve results in line with set timeframes.
- Influence operational activities by contributing to the on-going service development and improvement via strategic and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and uphold positive, effective working relationships with key stakeholders within the community.
Requirements for Success
With a significant background of management experience in the _Child, Youth & Family and/or Community Services _sectors, you will be confident in your values-based leadership, people management skills and knowledge of complex service delivery settings. Other requirements include:
- Relevant degree with management experience or associate diploma with substantial management experience is required.
- Action oriented and takes accountability to achieve results in line with set timeframes.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintains sustainable, positive internal and external relationships.
- Highly developed communication, coaching, training, negotiation, and problem-solving ability.
- Confident working in ambiguity and complexity by identifying risks, issues, and opportunities.
- Demonstrated delivery of service outcomes on time and compliant with funding requirements.
- Full driver licence with no restrictions
Before starting work with us, you will need to undertake a national police history check, qualifications, and referee checks, and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
