Key Responsibilities
- Step into a dynamic, hands-on role as part of a high-performing team driving Australia’s steel manufacturing industry forward. Working on 12-hour rotating day and night shifts, you’ll play a key role in keeping our operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently.
- Set and operate machining tools (lathes, mills, grinders, CNC equipment) to produce precision components for plant and equipment.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to manufacture parts within tolerance.
- Provide preventative and corrective maintenance on machining tools and equipment.
- Measure and test finished components.
- Technical support to production, maintenance management and broader reliability teams.
- Improving the reliability of the assets by proactively supporting CI initiatives and activities.
- Accurate record keeping of scheduled and breakdown maintenance within CMMS (SAP).
About You
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical or equivalent Trade.
- Demonstrated experience in machining operations, ideally in heavy industry, mining or manufacturing
- Ability to read and interpret drawings is essential
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools and equipment
- SAP or similar experience would be beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality.
- A strong commitment to safety and following procedures.
- Ability to undertake a pre-employment medical & drug/alcohol assessment.
Domestic Relocation included for those residing outside of Whyalla, which includes:
- Uplift of goods and relocation allowance (for individuals and immediate family)
- Travel and temporary accommodation (up to 4 weeks)
- DIDO Option Available (for Port Augusta, Quorn or Cowell residents)
