Your Role
As an Aboriginal Health Promotion Worker, youwill lead culturally responsive health promotion initiatives that addresscommunity needs and empower individuals to take charge of their health. You will work collaboratively with the team toprovide support for the local indigenous people to improve their healthoutcomes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Championingcommunity development and health promotion initiatives and demonstrate and rolemodel respectful relationships with elders, leaders, community members andfamilies
- Identifying localhealth priorities and coordinating programs to enhance community wellbeing
- Developing anddelivering engaging, culturally sensitive education, awareness, and preventionprograms to boost health literacy
- Advocating forculturally appropriate health practices and raising awareness of Aboriginalhealth issues by being a driver and communicator of AWAHS programs and servicesto all service providers
- Marketing anddesigning health promotional materials to internal and external networksdelivering high impact and community reach
What You Bring
- Proven expertise in designing,developing, and implementing health promotion programs
- Exceptionaldesign skills and marketing expertise in creating impactful, culturallyrelevant campaigns
- Strong understanding of social mediaplatforms and skill in using AI tools to promote AWAHS, its services, and newprograms effectively
- Knowledge of software tools to developand promote health initiatives and programs for maximum impact and engagement
- Deep knowledgeand lived experience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health issues anda passion for reducing health disparities and improving community wellbeing
- Strong communityconnections and up-to-date cultural and health knowledge to educate and inspire
- Excellentcommunication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diversestakeholders
