Due to the growth and ongoing success of our state-of-the-art Distribution Centre in Truganina, we have a new opening for an experienced HR & WHS Specialist to join our DC team. This permanent full-time role is reporting to the Head of Distribution and will work as a conduit between our HR Shared Services and our DC teams. The HR Advisor will be an integral part of the People and Culture team and assist in driving best practice across WHS and driving strategic improvements and initiatives within the DC culture.
What your day will look like;
- As HR Advisor you will work closely with the DC Managers, and the HR Shared Services Lead to create best practice as well as supportive and safe workplace health and safety procedures.
- Lead in the delivery and support of WHS compliance, in line with internal process and procedures while influencing positive change across all areas.
- Facilitate and lead all inductions and training of our DC Team Members, while working with the DC Leadership Team to ensure all Team Members have achieved training compliance
- Building an open, communicative, and supportive HR culture across the DC while working closely with team members to identify areas of improvement.
- Developing and delivering an events calendar, to promote engagement and improve workplace culture
What you will bring to this role;
- Excellent organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail skills, to coordinate tasks and projects with a diverse portfolio
- Have experience within a similar environment and have facilitation/training experience.
- Have previous experience and knowledge of the Storage Services and Wholesale Award.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills for influencing and liaising with managers and Team Members, at all levels.
- A strong understanding and capability in hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong and credible relationships quickly and confidently with stakeholders at all levels
- A positive, professional outlook, passionate about people, development, and change.
- Be an active listener with an aptitude for training and coaching.
- Own a team-based attitude; willing to go outside of required duties to support the team to achieve objectives
- Have tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, WHS or equivalent. First aid training will be preferred.
- Professional approach when dealing with sensitive and confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
