* Salary $84,096 to $95,103 FTE plus Superannuation and Leave Loading.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic Nursing and Midwifery Team as a Technical Support Officer at our Richmond Campus.
You will provide high-quality technical support to the School of Nursing and Midwifery's teaching programs within the Clinical Practice Units, which simulate clinical ward environments and are key in preparing Western's students for success.
Working closely with academic and professional staff, you will support high quality simulation-based learning using manikins, simulated medications, moulage, and clinical documentation. You will also maintain equipment and manage resources, while ensuring a safe, compliant learning environment.
This role suits a proactive problem-solver who is self-sufficient yet team-oriented, enjoys working collaboratively, and contributes to a culture of continuous improvement.
Role Responsibilities:
* Preparing, setting up, and packing down the Clinical Practice Unit laboratories.
* Maintaining consumable resources, including stores management and procurement
* Develop Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, and troubleshooting guides for relevant equipment and processes.
* Maintain, operate, and calibrate complex equipment including cleaning and basic maintenance.
* Maintain compliance for regulated facilities.
* Providing professional, timely support to academic staff and students
* Actively participate in identifying and recommending areas of improvement through Continuous Improvement or Kaizen programs.

About You
* Degree in Nursing & Midwifery and/or relevant workplace experience
* Experience setting up and cleaning down laboratories and research sites.
* Team first attitude with ability to work independently
* Proactive problem solving with an emphasis on continuous improvement
* Engage with new processes and technology in support of enhancing the student experience
