You will play a critical role in maintaining design quality, managing client relationships, and contributing to the continued growth of the business.This role is suited to someone who aspires to be part of the executive team of a high-performing engineering consultancy leading residential construction in Tasmania. You will have the opportunity to shape technical direction, influence project outcomes, and play a key role in the future growth and leadership of the business.Key Responsibilities 1) Senior Engineering LeadershipLead the design and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to constructionAct as the primary point of contact for clients, builders, and key stakeholdersEnsure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high technical standardProvide strong technical leadership, oversight, and quality assurance across all deliverablesIdentify and resolve complex technical and project-related challengesContribute to business development and the strengthening of client relationships2) Structural Design, Engineering & Construction Phase SupportUndertake structural engineering design across a range of residential and light commercial projectsPrepare and coordinate structural drawings and documentation suitable for constructionConduct site inspections to assess compliance with approved designs and specificationsObserve key construction hold points, including footing and foundation stagesIdentify and address technical, quality, and constructability issues during constructionPrepare clear and concise site inspection notes and reportsLiaise with builders and contractors to clarify design intent and respond to technical queriesAbout YouA degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.Minimum 5+ years experience in structural design of residential houses in Australia.Thorough working knowledge of AS1170, AS1684, AS3600, AS4100, AS2870, AS3700, AS1720 & AS4678.Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and residential construction practices.Experience in preparing engineering calculations and design documentation.Good communication and problem-solving skills.A collaborative approach and willingness to contribute to a growing team.Holds, or is eligible to obtain, a CBOS license.Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with full working rights.Why Join HED Consulting?
