Insurance Operations Incident Control Specialist
We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Operations Incident Control Specialist to join our team. As an integral part of our operations, you will play a key role in strengthening our control environment and supporting our teams to deliver safe, compliant, and member-focused outcomes.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for identifying, designing, and maintaining insurance operations controls. You will work closely with the Risk and Compliance team to meet reporting requirements and support the implementation and embedding of risk and compliance activities across the team.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage insurance operations incidents, including root cause analysis and remediation.
* IDentify control gaps and work with subject matter experts to uplift or implement new controls.
* Maintain and review Archer controls, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
* Support the team with compliance and risk obligations, including control self-assessments.
* Record and manage issues in Archer, including action planning and resolution tracking.
* Provide advice on controls for insurance operations initiatives and projects.
* Deliver training and upskilling on compliance and risk responsibilities.
* Attend incident meetings with third parties and communicate remediation steps.
* Assist with regulatory lodgments, assurance activities, and complaints handling.
* Promote a strong risk and compliance culture across the Insurance Operations team.
* Support compliance with the Insurance Policy and insurance business rules (Underwriting and Claims).
Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Experience in insurance within superannuation, particularly underwriting and/or claims.
* Strong incident management skills, including root cause analysis and remediation.
* Familiarity with the 3 Lines of Defense model.
* Experience working with third-party providers.
* Background in compliance management (Line 1 or Line 2) in financial services.
* Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, economics, accounting, or similar.
* RG146 in superannuation (advantageous).
* Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information.
* Excellent organisational skills and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
