WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Finance Director to lead the financial strategy, oversight, and commercial performance of a dynamic marketing and media business. This senior role combines day‑to‑day financial management with high‑level strategic insight, ensuring strong governance, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing the entire finance function, including accounting operations, payroll, HR finance, media finance, and management reporting. You will ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial systems, maintain statutory compliance, and manage audits and reconciliations across all entities. In this role, you will provide insightful analysis and reporting, including monthly P&Ls, balance sheets, cash‑flow forecasts, and revenue and profitability assessments, translating complex financial data into actionable business insights for leadership. You will oversee payroll, superannuation, leave balances, and remuneration planning, while managing media‑related finance processes such as direct media bookings, invoicing, activity fees, and reconciliations. A key part of the role is identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve profitability, optimise resourcing, and strengthen long‑term business performance. You will also play a central role in enhancing finance processes, controls, governance, and consistency across systems, workflows, and client onboarding.
WE NEED YOU TO HAVE:
* Senior finance experience in professional service‑based environments, agencies, media, or advertising
* Strong financial reporting, forecasting, and commercial analysis skills
* Expert Excel skills (XLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, MATCH) and experience with Xero or similar systems
* High attention to detail with a strategic mindset
* Confident communicator, comfortable working hands‑on in a fast‑moving environment
