Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Filtration Maintenance Specialist to join our maintenance team in a Refinery area of our processing plant.
This position specialises in the maintenance and operation duties of the Larox Filter, ensuring its availability and that of associated equipment.
The successful candidate will work in a crew on a rotating shift roster and report to a Maintenance Coordinator, performing planned maintenance, reactive breakdown maintenance and shutdown work on the filter.
About the Role:
* Perform routine maintenance tasks and repairs on the Larox Filter and related equipment;
* Carry out troubleshooting and diagnostic work to identify and rectify issues with the filter and associated systems;
* Participate in shutdown planning and preparation, including pre-shutdown checks and post-shutdown cleaning and restoration activities;
* Work collaboratively with other departments, including Electrical, Planners, and Operations, to ensure seamless operations and minimal downtime;
* Contribute to the development and implementation of maintenance strategies and procedures to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements:
* A Trade Qualification in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent mechanical trade qualification;
* Fixed plant mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in a Refinery or process plant environment;
* Good problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously or as part of a team;
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders;
* Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Laterite nickel process plant or refinery experience;
* Hydraulic system troubleshooting and repair expertise;
* Confined space, working at heights, or hazardous area training;
* Understanding of production and maintenance strategies for large-scale, continuous operating plants;
* Knowledge of Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental procedures, legislation, policies, and management systems;
* Good understanding of Computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) software.
