About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Safety Officer to lead and manage Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) across construction projects in NSW. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with NSW WHS legislation while driving a strong safety culture on site.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and maintain WHS systems in line with the NSW Work Health and Safety Act & Regulations
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and safety walks
* Review and approve SWMS, JSAs, and risk assessments
* Provide WHS leadership, mentoring, and training to site teams
* Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
* Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and regulators
* Monitor subcontractor WHS performance
* Report WHS performance and trends to management
* Stop unsafe work where required
About You
* Minimum 5+ years' experience in construction safety (senior level)
* Strong knowledge of NSW WHS legislation and SafeWork NSW requirements
* Diploma or higher qualification in WHS
* White Card (mandatory)
* Experience on large or complex construction projects preferred
* Confident communicator with strong leadership skills
