About the role
Silvertec Systems PTY LTD is seeking a talented Security Technician to join our team in Newcastle and Hunter region. This full-time position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intruder detection. We exclusively service Power Generation, mining, defence, and corrections customers. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' properties.
What you'll be doing
* Performing installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intruder detection
* Troubleshooting and diagnosing issues with security systems, and implementing solutions
* Conducting regular inspections and testing of security equipment to ensure optimal performance
* Providing excellent customer service to our clients, including responding to callouts and resolving any issues in a timely manner
* Maintaining accurate records and documentation related to all service work
* Staying up-to-date with the latest security technologies and industry best practices
What we're looking for
* Relevant technical qualifications in security systems or a related field
* Minimum 2 years of experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Excellent customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with clients
* A valid driver's license and the ability to work independently on-site
* A commitment to safety and a high level of attention to detail
* Current Security Licence required
* ACMA Open Cabling Registration required
* Must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency and ability to pass police check
* Valid White Card required
* Demonstrated experience with Network Video Systems (CCTV), access control systems, and intrusion detection systems
Preferred but not essential
* High Risk EWP Licence 11 meters and Over
* Genetec or other Enterprise VMS experience
* Experience within Power Generation, mining, defence, and corrections sectors
* NV1 Clearance
