· Provide strategic direction and deliver organisational plans aligned with SLSQ's Strategic Plan

· Lead a diverse operational portfolio including commercial, aviation and profit-for-purpose operations and accordingly, engage with senior government stakeholders

· Ensure long‑term organisational sustainability and growth through strong financial management and governance

· Participate in all State and National committees as required

About You

You are a visionary and strategic leader with a track record of delivering organisational growth, cultural uplift and operational excellence. You thrive in complex stakeholder environments, communicate with influence, and lead with integrity and purpose. Candidates with the following background, experience and attributes are encouraged to apply:

1. Tertiary qualifications in Business or Management are essential, with governance training (e.g., AICD) desirable.

3. Strong commercial acumen with experience identifying and developing revenue and marketing opportunities.
4. Demonstrated ability to deliver organisational growth and continuous improvement.
5. Proven inspirational and authentic leadership capability, including cultural change management.
6. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships across local, state and federal government
7. Experience working effectively with Boards, Committees and complex stakeholder environments.
8. Financial management capability and sound understanding of regulatory and governance frameworks.
9. Experience in risk management and demonstrated ability to identify, assess and mitigate strategic, financial, operational and reputational risks.
10. Experience within NFP, volunteer‑based or membership organisations (Surf Life Saving and aviation knowledge desirable).
11. Highly developed strategic thinking, communication, negotiation and problem‑solving skills.
12. Commitment to safety, resilience, professionalism and alignment with the mission and values of Surf Life Saving.
