Summary: We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team in Singleton, New South Wales. This permanent, full-time position plays a crucial role in the manufacturing and production sector, focusing on the design and development of innovative mechanical systems and components. The ideal candidate will contribute to enhancing our product offerings and ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the design process. Responsibilities Conduct engineering assessments of mechanical components including axles, wheels, trailer frames, and mechanical assemblies Design mechanical systems and integration components using CAD software Perform engineering analysis including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and design validation Ensure designs meet operational, safety, and durability requirements under real-world loading conditions Support manufacturing and production teams during fabrication and assembly Apply Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles Manage engineering documentation, drawings, and revision control using PDM systems Ensure compliance with Australian Design Rules (ADR), NTC standards, WHS requirements, and relevant engineering standards Liaise with internal/external stakeholders including procurement and production teams Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design within the manufacturing sector. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD). Strong understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing processes. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
