About the role
The Public Art Program Officer plays a key role in shaping Hobart's creative identity, bringing ambitious public art projects to life and activating the city's streets and spaces. Working across artists, communities and government, the role champions contemporary practice while delivering public art that is thoughtful, accessible and enduring.
Key duties include:
* curating and project managing public art commissions from early ideas through to fabrication, installation and care
* stewarding Council's public art collection, programs and platforms, ensuring they remain vibrant, relevant and well maintained
* building strong partnerships with artists, arts organisations, government and the community to advance Hobart's Public Art Program.

About you
The Arts Cultural Program Team is looking for an experienced public art and project management professional for a 12 month contract. The successful candidate brings a strong understanding of public art policy and cultural strategy within the built environment. The ideal candidate will combine creative insight with strong project, contract and stakeholder management capability to deliver high‐quality public art outcomes.
Key skills needed:
* proven capability in end‐to‐end public art and construction project delivery
* strong understanding of public art policy, cultural strategy and program delivery
* advanced communication, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
* proven ability to manage contracts, funding submissions and reporting requirements.
Qualifications and licences:
* Degree in Project Management, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Building or Industrial Design
* Current Driver Licence.
