Responsibilities
* Develop and manage infrastructure designs and short-term mine plans for borrow and rock pits.
* Analyze and interpret mine plans to ensure alignment with operational objectives.
* Conduct tailings facility inspections and monitoring activities.
* Monitor groundwater instrumentation, surface monuments, and water balance systems.
* Participate in annual external tailings management audits.
* Prepare and coordinate weekly and monthly work plans and schedules.
* Supervise and conduct survey work to support project planning and execution.
* Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and standards.
* Respond to technical inquiries and resolve engineering‐related issues.
* Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering procedures, policies, and practices.
* Perform equipment and production studies to support operational targets.
* Verify that engineering designs are correctly implemented in the field.
* Conduct surveys and collect data required for detailed engineering designs.
* Assist with annual budgeting, construction planning, and operational scheduling.
* Support mine and infrastructure projects through research, technical documentation, process improvements, and continuous learning of industry trends and technologies.
Qualifications
* Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil, Geotechnical, or a related field).
* University graduate with at least 1 year of practical experience in a mining environment.
* Basic proficiency in engineering and project management software, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, MineSight, Global Mapper, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project).
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
* Ability to work in a fast‐paced multicultural environment.
* Willingness to work in both Brokopondo and Paramaribo on a rotational schedule of 14 days on duty followed by 7 days off.
* A valid proof of good conduct ('Bewijs van goedgedrag') will be required upon selection.
