About the Service
The Hunter Valley Lower Mid North Coast Mental Health Service provides community-based psychiatric care for adults across Taree, Forster, Gloucester and Bulahdelah.
The service delivers comprehensive assessment, treatment, care coordination and referral pathways for consumers and their families/carers, with additional specialist support across areas such as perinatal mental health and eating disorders. Care is provided through brief intervention services, acute and rehabilitation care coordination, and recovery-focused group programs. About the Opportunity
This role offers a varied and rewarding opportunity to work closely with consumers and their families, delivering mental health triage, comprehensive assessment, care planning and safety planning.
Interventions are provided across a range of settings including:
* Telephone and virtual care
* Centre-based, face-to-face appointments
* Outreach and home-based care
You will work collaboratively with consumers, families/carers, the multidisciplinary team and community stakeholders to support recovery-oriented, culturally respectful and evidence-based care.
About You
You will demonstrate:
* Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills to build effective therapeutic relationships.
* The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team.
* Capacity to provide clinical leadership and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Requirements
* Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Nursing, Social Work, which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association / provisional or general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
* Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
Support & Development
You will be welcomed into the Continuing Care Team and supported by the Team Manager and Clinical Coordinator through structured onboarding and orientation.
Ongoing support includes:
* Regular in-service education
* Clinical supervision
* Access to professional development aligned with annual performance and development reviews
