The Role
At Karratha Senior High School (SHS), English teachers are expected to build positive relationships with students and work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance academic achievement. They will deliver an engaging secondary school English curriculum aligned with the Whole School Instructional Model, ensuring consistent and effective teaching across all learning areas.
Responsibilities
* Build positive relationships with students and collaborate with colleagues to enhance academic achievement.
* Deliver engaging, meaningful secondary school English curriculum aligned with the Whole School Instructional Model.
* Analyse and apply data such as NAPLAN and OLNA to inform planning, instruction, and assessment.
* Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
* Provide meaningful learning opportunities to empower students to reach their full potential.
* Use technology to enhance learning in the English classroom.
Qualifications and Experience
* Strong professional knowledge of secondary English and effective teaching practices.
* Relevant teaching experience delivering secondary school English curriculum.
* Ability to analyse and apply assessment data (NAPLAN, OLNA, etc.).
* Commitment to professional growth, challenging traditional methods, embracing innovation, and reflecting on practice.
* Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with students, staff, and community.
* Confidence in using technology to enhance classroom learning.
Eligibility
* Hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration.
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of appointment.
* Apply for a WA Working with Children Check before starting.
* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number before starting.
