The Role Reporting into the Group Commercial Director, the Group Financial Controller will take end-to-end ownership of the Group’s financial control, reporting and compliance framework, while partnering closely with the Executive Management Team. The role oversees general ledger integrity, balance sheet, cash flow, statutory reporting, and financial planning, and leads the finance function to strengthen systems and controls in support of a growing, multi-site business.
Duties
Own the Group’s financial control, reporting, and compliance framework across a multi-entity, multi-site environment
Lead month-end and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely, accurate management reporting and balance sheet integrity
Oversee statutory reporting, year-end accounts, audits, and tax processes in partnership with external advisors
Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning, providing clear analysis and commercial insight to support decision-making
Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and liquidity, maintaining strong financial discipline and visibility
Oversee payroll, payroll tax, superannuation, and compliance with sector-specific professional award requirements
Strengthen financial systems, controls, policies, and processes to support scalability and operational discipline
Drive continuous improvement across reporting, systems, and business intelligence tools (including Power BI)
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, setting clear standards for accountability, capability, and performance
Act as a trusted commercial partner to the Group Commercial Director, Owners, and Executive Management Team, providing practical, commercially focused financial insight
The Candidate
CA or CPA qualified, with experience in a senior financial control or group accounting role
End-to-end ownership of financial control, including general ledger, balance sheet, cash flow and statutory reporting
Proven delivery of month-end, management reporting, budgeting, and reforecasting processes
Strong technical accounting capability and experience managing audits and external advisors
Experience in a multi-entity and/or multi-site environment
Hands-on cash flow, working capital, and liquidity management experience
Proven ability to lead and develop finance teams
Commercially minded, with the ability to provide clear, practical insight to senior stakeholders
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems; BI exposure (e.g. Power BI)
