**About the Assignment**
The Development - Associated Gas (AG) team within the PNG Development & Operations (D&O) unit stewards Santos' AG-related projects. This covers the management and coordination of project development and planning activities across the full technical and non-technical spectrum, to deliver robust business cases, associated execution plans, and ultimately project outcomes.
AG development(s) include a range of major capital projects. The primary focus area is the tie-in and expansion of the Agogo Production Facility (APF) in the Southern Highlands, to optimise gas supply to the PNG LNG Project.
**Key Criteria**:
- Commissioning / Start-Up Leadership Experience
- Remote Location Experience (Prefer PNG but other international / remote highland environment experience well regarded)
- Large scale upstream project commissioning / start-up experience covering wells, gathering, flowlines, facilities, export pipelines. (Facilities, Wells, Flowlines and Gathering are primary accountabilities - PNG LNG may commission export line TBC)
- Operational background will be preferred over Project Execution background
**Tasks include**:
The System Completions and Commissioning Lead is accountable to the Project Operations and Maintenance Lead for the delivery of the Project's System Completions and Commissioning work scope, ensuring high-quality input to project planning / engineering deliverables and providing an effective interface with the Operations groups.
The System Completions and Commissioning Lead will manage a team of specialists, such as Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Representatives, Commissioning & Handover Technicians and Engineers, etc.
This is an of f ice-based position initially, transitioning to site at completion of Project Detailed Design phase. Ad hoc site deployment may be required prior to this milestone to support other project start -up activities as required.
**Key accountabilities include**:
- Establish a project safety culture by acting as an icon of HSE excellence. e.g., taking a personal role in leading project site safety audits;
- Drive Completions, Commissioning and Start Up Readiness planning in pursuit of "f lawless start-up", e.g. considering future business requirements, commissioning and handover considerations, etc.
- Own and actively manage commissioning and start-up related risks, ensuring these are identified and that appropriate control and mitigation strategies are effectively and successful implemented;
- Development and population of Systems Completion Database for tracking status of Systems Completion and Pre Commissioning Check Sheets;
- Deliver relevant project documentation to ensure plant and equipment are functional, operable, and manageable without incident - e.g. Start-up & Commissioning Strategy / Plan / Procedure(s), Training Strategy / Plan;
- Development and population of Systems Completion Database for tracking status of Systems Completion and Pre Commissioning Check Sheets;
- Plan and execute work stream in accordance with the approved scope, schedules, budgets, HSES targets, quality and other business objectives; and,
- Assemble and manage the System Completions and Commissioning team required to deliver the above scope.
**This assignment is initially offered for 12 months, engaged via Chandler Macleod.**
**Location for this assignment is Brisbane working full-time office hours with some requirement for travel to PNG.**
**About You**
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering disciplines
- 15+ years of experience in Oil & Gas project commissioning / operations;
- 10+ years of oil field leadership experience, preferably at the site manager level or higher;
- Demonstrated safety leadership experience;
- Commissioning / Operations assurance experience;
- Experience working in remote, international, developing countries /environments **(ESSENTIAL)**:
- Management of Change (MOC) within an operating environment;
- Exposure to and understanding of project delivery processes (esp. in front-end / pre-FEED project phases);
- Experience with processes and management systems development;
- Technical familiarity with Santos' PNG Oil & Gas operations; and,
- Global experience, especially in developing countries and / or remote locations.
