What areas can you work in?
- Short‑Term Residential Accommodation Service (STRAS) unit : A dedicated 20‑bed facility for patients awaiting placement in a residential aged care facility. The unit supports patients assessed by the Aged Care Assessment Team as needing aged care services, offering a safe, supportive environment.
- Acute Medical Services : Immediate, short‑term care for patients with urgent medical conditions such as respiratory illnesses, cardiac events, infections, and undiagnosed conditions, focusing on stabilisation, diagnosis, and early treatment.
- Palliative Care : Compassionate, patient‑centred support for individuals with life‑limiting illnesses, improving quality of life through pain management, symptom control, and emotional support.
- Sub‑Acute Rehabilitation Services : Specialised care for patients no longer requiring acute treatment but needing support to regain independence and functional ability, with personalised rehabilitation programs.
- Surgical Services : Planned and emergency surgical procedures, including general surgery and minor respiratory procedures, delivered by a skilled team of surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and allied health professionals.

Our enhanced education team provides after‑hours support, ensuring excellence in patient care and positive outcomes for both staff and patients. As part of our dedicated team, you will serve the Lake Macquarie community across a range of specialities: 24‑hour emergency care, adult acute coronary care, complex general surgery, general medicine, day surgery, sub‑acute and aged care, and palliative care. Located at the northern end of Lake Macquarie, Belmont offers picturesque views, coastal walking tracks, family‑friendly parks, lakeside picnic areas, and a variety of award‑winning restaurants and cafes.
Requirements
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- To be eligible for permanent employment you must be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a Recent Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
- Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable local candidate is identified; in this instance, employment must comply with visa conditions and expiry date.
