As a Purchasing Officer, you’ll be responsible for raising purchase orders, coordinating materials, and resolving supply issues to support our modular manufacturing operations. The role also includes reviewing plans to issue subcontractor works orders, maintaining cost control measures and supporting month-end activities such as stocktake.
This role requires someone who has a high level of attention to detail, as accuracy underpins every stage of the purchasing and manufacturing process. With multiple concurrent projects and tight production timelines, meticulous ordering is imperative to ensure smooth manufacturing operations.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Raise purchase orders for materials
* Review plans and raise purchase orders for subcontractor works
* Expedite materials to meet project timelines and minimise disruptions
* Monitor and report on supply issues impacting production
* Maintain accurate purchase order documentation in production files
* Assist with cost control measures and month-end processes, including stocktake
* Provide general purchasing and administrative support to the manufacturing team
What You’ll Bring
* Proven experience in a purchasing role, ideally within construction, manufacturing or a related industry
* Ability to prioritise a dynamic workload in a high-volume environment
* High attention to detail, particularly around pricing, data entry and documentation
* Experience using Oracle or the ability to learn new systems quickly
* Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Confidence communicating and negotiating with suppliers and other relative stakeholders
* A positive, proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work well with minimal supervision
* Building or construction knowledge and ability to read plans (desirable – training provided)
