Student Planner Officer role supporting development assessment while completing university studies at Townsville City Council.
Your Role
Key responsibilities include:
Working with the development industry to ensure positive outcomes for Townsville's community and lifestyle.
Completing tasks allocated by the Coordinator, Development Assessment, within a team of four planners and supported by engineering, administrative, and internal services.
Contributing to development assessment processes and strategic planning activities.
Casual role ceases upon completion of university studies.
About You
What you'll need:
Currently studying a Bachelor of Urban Planning or related degree (e.g., Environmental Science), in third or fourth year.
Sound customer service, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Basic verbal communication skills to interact accurately and concisely with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
Basic prioritisation and time management skills to plan and organise own work objectives.
Ability to develop knowledge of Development Assessment and Strategic Planning processes and procedures.
Ability to actively participate in a team environment to achieve strategic and operational outcomes and contribute positively to team morale.
Developing knowledge of development assessment processes (IDAS and DA Rules) and Town Planning principles.
Compensation & Benefits
Casual rate of $***** per hour plus superannuation (13.5% employer contribution subject to employee contributing minimum 6%).
