International trading company seeks the services of a suitably qualified Bookkeeper/Accountant. Reporting directly to the owners, the primary responsibilities include:
* Preparation of quarterly management accounts
* Preparation of annual financial accounts
* Preparation of FBT returns
* Processing payments to suppliers
* Entering sales invoices into MYOB
* Liaising with our bank to credit funds to our accounts daily. This requires some knowledge of foreign exchange and how forward exchange contracts work
* Receipting payments
* Reconciling AUD and USD accounts daily
* Reconciling credit card accounts
* Reconciling accounts with suppliers and shipping companies
* Processing payroll weekly
* Processing monthly BAS and Superannuation
* Maintaining a share portfolio
The successful candidate will possess the following attributes:
* Initiative and good communication skills
* Ability to work autonomously within a small family owned business
* Awareness of relevant tax laws for a large sized business including depreciation and superannuation contribution rules
* Ability to manage the record keeping for share trading
* Proficient in the use of MYOB Premier including payroll, receivables and payables function
* Competent in foreign currency translation including forward exchange contracts
* Excel spreadsheet experience
* Experience in an exporting/importing business an advantage but not essential
Although this is a part time position, the successful applicant would be expected to work full time initially until a full understanding of the duties is achieved. We then envisage four days per week, with the possibility of extended hours if the need arises. Remuneration would be commensurate with the successful applicant's experience.
