About the role
The Law Council of Australia is seeking an Administration Coordinator to provide high‐quality administrative and secretariat support to the Federal Dispute Resolution Section (FDRS) and the Legal Practice Section (LPS). Reporting to the Executive Officer, this part‐time role (0.8 FTE) is ideal for a highly organised administration professional who enjoys supporting committees, coordinating events and working in a member‐focused, professional environment.
Duties and responsibilities
Section and event support
* Assist with event planning, preparation and delivery of Section events, including resources, programming and communications.
* Provide on‐day coordination.
Committee and executive support
* Provide executive level administrative support to FDRS and LPS Executive Committees.
* Coordinate Executive Committee meetings, including logistics and follow‐up actions.
Membership administration
* Assist with the administration, engagement and management of Section memberships.
* Support membership growth initiatives, renewals, promotions and member benefits.
Publications and communications
* Assist with the production of the FDRS quarterly publication Chapter III and the LPS newsletter.
* Coordinate the publishing of articles and podcasts to the Law Management Journal.
* Prepare and distribute newsletters using Canva and other associated member engagement platforms.
Cross‐Section support and other duties
* Provide administrative support to other Law Council Sections as required, including staff backfill.
* Undertake additional duties as required.
Selection criteria
* Demonstrated experience providing executive or high‐level administrative support.
* Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines independently.
* Strong attention to detail with well‐developed written communication skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* High level proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* Willingness to travel interstate and work occasional after hours.
* Experience in providing meeting support including minute taking.
* Experience in data management systems, design software and registration systems.
* Background in member‐based organisation, events or administration background.
* Basic finance experience.
* Experience liaising with key stakeholders such as courts, government agencies, members or service providers.
