Project Engineer - Civil & Road Construction

THE ROLE
SGQ is seeking a Project Engineer (Civil) to join one of our high-performing construction delivery teams. This hands-on role is responsible for engineering support and quality assurance across civil infrastructure projects—ensuring delivery meets client expectations and SGQ's commercial objectives.
This opportunity provides genuine exposure to project delivery and the chance to grow your skills under the guidance of experienced Senior Engineers and Management.
Position Specific Duties
Analyse design documents to support development of construction methodologies.
Assist in preparing, implementing and revising construction programs to achieve project milestones.
Support the Project Manager in arranging required statutory approvals and project authorisations.
Work with the Site Supervisor to organise materials, plant and resources for allocated projects.
Provide on-site supervision of project staff and resources to ensure effective project delivery.
Contribute to weekly project cost reviews, actively responding to underperforming activities.
Review construction documents to identify client quality requirements.
Coordinate, monitor and control required quality testing to ensure compliance with specifications.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES:
1. PREFERRED
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (Engineers Australia recognised).
Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to apply engineering principles to civil infrastructure construction.
Experience conducting quality investigations and reporting findings.
Experience supervising and directing project resources.
Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
DESIRABLE
Experience on Department of Main Roads or general civil infrastructure projects.
