Role
Due to operational needs, IGA Ravenswood requires a Retail Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of the supermarket. The Retail Manager will be responsible for managing store operations, supervising staff, maintaining stock levels, ensuring compliance with retail and safety standards, and delivering a high level of customer service.
Responsibilities
* Organize all store operations and allocate responsibilities to personnel.
* Supervise and guide staff towards maximum performance.
* Prepare and control the store's budget, aiming for minimum expenditure and maximum efficiency.
* Monitor stock levels and purchases and ensure they remain within budget.
* Deal with complaints from customers to maintain the store's reputation.
* Inspect areas in the store and resolve any issues that might arise.
* Plan and oversee in-store promotional events or displays.
* Keep abreast of market trends to determine the need for improvements in the store.
* Analyze sales and revenue reports and make forecasts.
* Ensure the store fulfils all legal health and safety guidelines.
* Determine product mix, stock levels, and service standards.
* Formulate and implement purchasing and marketing policies, and set prices.
* Promote and advertise the establishment's goods and services.
* Sell goods and services to customers and advise them on product use.
* Maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions.
* Undertake budgeting for the establishment.
* Control the selection, training, and supervision of staff.
* Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate III in Retail, Diploma of Management, or a related qualification in retail or business management.
* Additional training in retail operations, customer service, or business administration is highly regarded.
* Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a retail management role.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
* Experience in stock control, merchandising, and day-to-day retail store operations.
* Proven ability to deliver high levels of customer service and resolve customer issues professionally.
* Ability to manage staff rosters, monitor sales performance, and maintain store presentation standards.
* Sound understanding of workplace health and safety and retail compliance requirements.
