Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Stonecarver to perform various tasks related to stonemasonry, including cutting, shaping, and installing natural stone materials.
Key Responsibilities:
* Cutting, shaping, and installing natural stone materials such as granite, marble, and limestone.
* Interpreting architectural drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution of project requirements.
* Using hand and power tools to shape and finish stone surfaces to the desired specifications.
* Mixing and applying mortar, grout, and other adhesives to securely bond stone elements together.
* Installing and repairing stone structures, including walls, floors, countertops, and decorative features, with precision and attention to detail.
* Collaborating with project managers, architects, and other tradespeople to coordinate work activities and ensure project deadlines are met.
* Adhering to workplace health and safety regulations at all times.
* Mentoring and training junior stonecarvers and apprentices to develop their skills and knowledge in the field.
Requirements:
* 2-3 years of hands-on experience in stonemasonry
* A passion for working with natural materials
* A strong attention to detail
